Simply Joyful and Blessed

This week was exciting as I was able to spend more time with friends, see kids again, become reacquainted with many others, as well as meet lots of new friends!  Each day I am even more grateful to be back here and to be serving God throughout it all.

On Monday, I had my first kids English Class of the summer.  We learned vocabulary for parts of a computer and words associated with books.  We did many activities practicing the vocabulary and created mini-books to record English words and phrases to learn.

I was also able to teach my first adult class on Wednesday - and it went so well!  Since it was the first day, I wanted to see the level of English the adults were speaking, so we played an alphabet board game that allowed them to recall English words and share full sentences in English.  Additionally, we did many other activities where the adults could share things with the group about themselves and begin conversations.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays we have Plan B Club.  At club, we play many games, do a variety of activities (like coloring, making bracelets, or playing dominoes), and just get to hang out with each other.  One favorite game of the kids is Nerf wars, which we played both Tuesday and Thursday this week - thankfully, I have a younger brother who had trained me in the art of Nerf wars prior ;)  I am also very excited because there are more girls coming to Plan B club regularly!

With Some Friends at Club

For Restart Club (Elementary Youth Group) on Friday we played 20 Questions - Bible Character Edition and the kids practiced the Ten Commandments.  We also spent time playing basketball and dodgeball at the playground.  We also have Wembloud Club (High School and Adult Youth Group) Friday nights.  Our speaker shared about the prophet Joel and how God gives each of us gifts and talents to share with each other.  We also played Floor Volleyball at youth group, which was very fun and not surprisingly, we spent most of our time laughing!

When I am not teaching English, spending time with friends, or playing with kids at club, I am with my host family because life is always more exciting in a house with five kids!  And I can't resist all the snuggles from my host sisters and when this little one calls me "Teta" ("Auntie") :)

I am excited to jump right into next week with more English lessons, more time with the kids, and more opportunities to see God's joy.
