It's a Musical Number!
The Little's are learning so fast! Many have already started singing along with our "Hello" and "Bye-Bye" songs and quickly catch onto the words in the English songs and poems we sing during class time. The moms tell me that the kids are singing the songs on the car ride home and throughout the week before coming back the following week for the next lesson. This group of Littles are so engaged in the activities and the lesson theme that I find I'm using all the material I have planned and the "back pocket" activities as well! It's a joy watching them explore the activity through singing, movement, stories, games, and art activities.

Bring in the Stunt-Double!
English Classes started this week in our new Elim building, and I have TWO great Kid's Classes and an Adult Class that meets each week. We started with some basic English last week as I encouraged the students to see how much English they already know and how to ask their classmates for help so there aren't a dozen students running between me and translators asking a million questions! What surprised me the most is the handful of "stunt-doubles" we have in the class - kids who look like they could be twins, but aren't related at all! The translators and I are happy we know half the kids from last year because if we had a completely new group, we would surely be switching names this year!
Intermission.I love when I get to enjoy the beautiful scenery around Letovice and reflect on all God is doing here.
Play the Soundtrack.I was invited last week to attend a school event on Culture Day in a nearby city. The teacher had met me at camp two summers ago and reached out to me when her school started planning a day of languages and cultures for the students. I taught a lesson I created titles "English Everywhere!" and the students and I looked at ways to make the hardest parts of studying English (grammar, vocabulary, slang, accents, and pronunciation/spelling) through team challenges and creative activities. It showed the students that even the hardest challenges in learning English can be an exciting challenge. The favorite activity was definitely creating a t-shirt design based on four different slang song titles. I played the four songs while the students teamed up to finish their t-shirt designs before the songs ended! It's always a fun time visiting the schools for a quick lecture.

Ready, Set, ACTION!Club times are always active and full of energy as the kids race through the rooms playing an assortment of games and meeting with friends. We have officially opened our new building in Letovice for club times, and we are quickly getting used to a new routine and effectively using all the available space as it is no surprise that 60 kids frequent the club in one afternoon. We are continually thankful that God provided us with this building closer to the center of the city so we can reach out to more students and families throughout the year.
On nice days in Boskovice, the kids like to spend the time rolling around the driveway - skateboard, scooters, and bikes!

It took a lot of hard work from many people to get the new building ready to open in time. Lots of people came and helped in any small way they could. I enjoyed seeing how God used each of our talents and determination in this project. We still have some work left to complete on the reconstruction of the building and organizing our Stuff Room still lies ahead, but we are thrilled to be inviting the kids to their new clubhouse!
