Setting Records

We have been praying for a while that more girls will come to Plan B and become connected at the church.  Well, this past week we had a record number of girls at Plan B and in my English classes!  Actually, there were more girls than boys for the first time in my English class this past week.  God is definitely answering our prayers and showing His power through it all.  The girls keep coming back and bringing more friends.  The English lessons this week included "Arctic and Antarctic," "Plant Growth," and "Superheroes."  The week included many projects and games, but two games really stood out as the kids' favorites.  One in the "Plant Growth" lesson where one student was the gardener  and had to guess which other student was the "weed" who was "killing" the other plants.  Another game was in the "Superheroes" lesson; it was pretty much the game "Mafia", but with Superheroes and Villains.  The students had fun trying to guess who among them was the Villain.

(Handprint Trees - so many girls!)

(Superheroes - one of my translators happened to wear the perfect shirt for the lesson!)

We also spend one day during the week at the sports fields.  This week I was overjoyed a couple of girls I know through English class showed up for the afternoon!

I also taught my first adult class on Thursday.  A good friend of mine works with disabled and handicapped adults and invited me to teach an English Lesson to a small group.  It was such a great experience, and I hope to go back for another lesson or two this summer!  On Friday, I taught another Re-Start Club Lesson.  The youth pastor told me we again set another record for the most kids at Re-Start Club ever! This is great because it is a Children's Bible class, and it is our hope for more kids who go to Plan B to become connected with Re-Start Club.  This week, I did a lesson on the parables of the "Lost Coin" and the "Lost Sheep".  I first illustrated the point of the story by having the kids do a puzzle together, but before they began I took a piece.  When they finished the puzzle and realized a piece was missing, they all began to look for the missing piece on the floor.  I then went into the parable stories and talked about how the kids acted just like the shepherd and the woman in the two parables.  We played more games and did a project that also continued with the theme of looking for the lost.

This next week will be filled with more English Classes, Club time, and going to the Elementary School to invite kids to LetFest! I am excited to see how God will work in these students' lives as summer begins for them!
