Background
Our ministry locations include the cities of Letovice (~6,700 people), Boskovice (~12,000 people), and Velke Opatovice (~3,600 people). There are many children in these three cities, but a lack of activities for students to be involved in. Many communities in Czech experience this, and as a result, there is an unsettling high use of illegal substances by minors. Additionally, Czech is one of the most atheistic countries in the world (0.5% Evangelical according to SEND International). This is mainly due to the influence of oppression in Czech history, thus many people get caught in a position of experiencing a lack of hope.
This map is from the Washington Post regarding the amount of self-described "convinced atheists" around the world (© 2013). According to this study, Czech has the most "convinced atheists" in Europe.

Still, God Continues to Reach Czech
There is so much joy in sharing the hope of Christ! My absolute favorite moments are when I can encourage students I have worked with for years in their God-given gifts. I pray regularly for revival in Czech and that these students will be the start of a rippling revival.
It's already started!...
4 yr. old - Told me, "There are bad people in the world. They don't have Jesus. I do. I can show them!"
10 yr. old - Made the decision to follow Christ the summer of 2018 and finished reading a children's Bible a month later. In 2019, she launched a Girl's Bible Study that quickly grew out of my living room! She led her best friend to Christ the following year. In 2023, she joined our youth group leadership team.
12 yr. old - Committed his life to Christ at Summer Camp (LetFest) 2023! He has found new joy and passion in using his language skills to help translate Beginner English Classes.
15 yr. old - A bold Christian who overcame cancer with 100% clearance in 2017 declared to her astounded doctors, "my God CAN do miracles!" She has been a student leader at our youth clubs for years and all the kids know her testimony.
Future Dreams
In our work with the youth, we are always dreaming of more ways to expand and reach this community to share God's love with all the kids and families! We ask God to continue to raise up new leaders who can help this ministry continue to grow as we invest into the lives of the next generation. In 2021, we developed a leadership program that focuses on intentional discipleship. Our first two groups have "graduated" from leadership academy, though many have found they don't want to finish. We love to train disciples who will make disciples, and we are excited for how God will work through these students and leaders.
