I normally write these blog posts on the weekend, but this past weekend was filled with a birthday party for a friend, a sleepover, and many other activities. Then, I became pretty sick with a head-cold and spent all of yesterday afternoon in bed. I am feeling much better today in comparison to yesterday, so I am very hopeful to get back to doing all my regular activities soon :)
For kids English last week, I taught a lesson on "Zoo Animals." We had fun playing an alphabet Zoo game, doing a relay race where we acted like different animals, and created little animals out of paper and pipe-cleaners along with zoo habitats for our little animals. The kids created their favorite animals to see at the zoo including giraffes, cheetahs, snakes, jellyfish, spiders, and turtles!

Last week I also taught two adult English classes with the topics of "Weather" and "Body." The adult class is similar to the kids class in that we play many games and make projects, but we focus mainly on using the lesson vocabulary in conversations. In the weather lesson, we shared our favorite weather and created weather charts with seasons and clothing apparel to wear in each season. In the body lesson, we played many games to learn different parts of the body and then used the vocabulary to talk about an injury we have had.

On Tuesday we had club at the sports fields, and I had a really wonderful time! There were about 25-30 guys who came to play sports with us. We played lots of soccer and some ultimate frisbee too. I always have lots of fun playing games with these kids and love watching them encourage each other on the sports field. We also had club on Thursday at the church. There were many activities going on including nerf wars, trampoline jumping, tag, pickle-in-the-middle, painting, and ping-pong!

I also had the privilege to meet with the church elders last week and share about my experiences in Czech and all I see hapening with the children's ministry through the impact of club. I am honored to be a small part of this church family and see all that these leaders do for their church and for the Lord.

Some of my favorite moments are the moments I get to share my heart for Christ with the children. This past week, I was able to teach the Elementary Youth Group and the oldest Sunday School class. For youth group, I spoke about listening for God's voice and the many different ways we can listen to God. We played multiple games that required the kids to be good listeners and related it to listening to God. In Sunday School, I talked about being chosen by God and how God can use our imperfections and mistakes to continue to make us beautiful and use us for his purpose.

On Sunday afternoon, I joined a friend and his parents for lunch and then they treated me to a tour of the Letovice palace! After coming to this town for six years, this was my first time inside the palace, and it was beautiful! They are still reconstructing much of the palace, but the new owner is taking good care of the place and trying to restore it one room at a time. One of the best parts of the tour was the view of the city from the palace balcony. I am in awe of this beautiful place I get to live for the summer and am reminded of God's goodness as I had this wonderful view of his creation.

My host home became a little more exciting this week with a new pet! In a home with five kids, two rabbits, a kitten, an American, and a little neighbor girl who seems to live here too, there is always something exciting happening! If you ever needed a good storyline for a new TV show, this would be a good place to start - almost like an international version of Full House ;)
