I had thought that after LetFest and Vikings Camp that my days would slow down a little bit more, but I am finding that there is still so much I am blessed to be a part of! Sometimes I still feel like the summer has just started, and then I realize it is already August! This past week kept me busy with English Classes, club time, visits with friends, meeting other American missionaries in Czech, and a city festival.
I had a smaller class on Monday for Children's English Class, but we had lots of fun together! I taught the topic of "Insects" - which is one of my favorite lessons I had revised from last year. We went on a scavenger hunt for bugs, made thumbprint bugs, and played multiple group games and challenges to learn the vocabulary. The favorite game was called "Ant Colony," and the queen ant had to guess who is the ant not from her colony.

On Monday and Wednesday, I had Adult's English Class. We did the topics of "Travel" and "Community." The topics related well with each other and made it easy for the adults in the class to use the vocabulary from both days together. I have realized this class thrives most in short conversations, so there are always multiple questions for each student to answer surrounding the theme along with picture description activities. One activity we all enjoyed was drawing ourselves on magazine pictures and describing the "travel location" and what we drew ourselves doing in the picture!
With Our Travel Location Pictures
Tuesday was a normal club day at the church. I was impressed, however, with the number of girls who came to club on Tuesday - there were eight young girls total, and it was their first time at club for five or six of them! I continue to pray club will keep expanding and reach more of the youth in this town. We also had a bungee tight rope at club on Tuesday, so we enjoyed trying to balance and bounce on the rope! We also had club on Wednesday at the sports field. We played lots of soccer and even our own version of American Football - almost like Ultimate Frisbee with a football. I have realized how important club sports days and club time at the church are this summer. Some kids will only come to the church for club, and other kids we only see at the sports field! I am glad club is able to do many different activities for the preferences of a variety of kids.

This week I also took a trip to visit a family of American missionaries living in Czech. I had met their oldest son at my university this past year and was able to connect with the family this past week. I was very encouraged by their stories of life as missionaries in Czech and loved hearing about their passion for this nation as well!
Fun Time with Missionary Kids
Yesterday, most of the leaders from our club were able to help with a city-wide festival. Our team helped with set-up, clean-up, and "backstage security." We also had lots of fun playing the festival games, listening to music, eating the food, and sitting by the pool. It was a great time with friends and seeing so many people I know from the town!
At the Festival
It is hard to believe it is already the end of another week. The time here just seems to be slipping away! I am enjoying each day, and every day I am so grateful God has given me this opportunity to serve and be with all these people. I am excited to see how God will work in these last few weeks!
